EBags coming out with a line of internet-connected technologies

"News on eBags latest upgrades which should make things easier for travelers everywhere." Eliot Cobb
EBags, Colorado’s most established e-commerce company, is coming out with a line of internet-connected technologies meant to make life easier for business road warriors and other travelers.
Next month, eBags Inc. plans to unveil a system of tags and a mobile phone app that turns bags into “smart” luggage able to keep an inventory of what’s inside and help locate the bag itself.
“Anything that leaves your bag you’ll know about it, or if it doesn’t make back into your bag, you’ll know that, too,” said Mike Edwards, eBags’ CEO and president. The app will keep track of travel rewards and do other things, too.
“It’s going to evolve and get connected to everything you do on your journey, not just be a bag finder,” Edwards told me.
The technology is part of eBags’ push to become known more as an innovative travel brand, not just as a website for deals on bags and luggage.
